Purpose
The main objective of the activity was to aware the students about the thalassaemia disease and its prevention along with achievements of Punjab Thalassaemia and Other Genetic Disorders Prevention and Research Institute.
Proceedings
The event was started with the recitation of Holy Quran. Dr. Hussain Jafri highlighted the PTGD achievements and future goals. He emphasized that every single person should have Thalassaemia Carrier Screening Test before marriage. Dr. Yasmin Ehsan delivered lecture on ‘Basics of Thalassaemia’.
Thalassaemia Screening Camp was also arranged in Sociology Department of BZU and 100 persons were screened. Ahmad Nadeem Khalid, Field Monitoring Officer / Incharge PTGD Regional Office Multan, paid thanks to management of Sociology Department, BZU Multan.
