The Punjab Thalassemia and Other Genetic Disorders Prevention and Research Institute (PTGD) successfully conducted a specialized pre-conference workshop focused on thalassemia prevention and fetal medicine. Held at the PTGD office conference room, the event brought together 25–30 healthcare professionals for a day of learning and hands-on training.
The workshop featured expert sessions on fetal medicine, genetic disorder diagnosis, prenatal diagnostic techniques, and complications, led by renowned specialists including Prof. Dr. Noreen Akmal, Prof. Dr. Shabnam Bashir, and Dr. Yasmeen Ehsan. The agenda also included a practical hands-on session on Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS), reinforcing clinical skills in prenatal diagnostics.
This workshop underscores PTGD’s ongoing commitment to advancing medical education, improving patient care, and promoting preventive strategies for thalassemia and other genetic disorders in Punjab.
