Event Details:
An awareness seminar was organized in collaboration with Institute of Biochemistry & Biotechnology PMAS Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi. The purpose of the Event was to aware University Students about the Beta thalassemia Major disease prevalence and its Prevention measure in Punjab Province.
On behalf of PTGD Regional Coordinator has given briefed introduction of Punjab Thalassemia and other genetic disorders prevention and research institute and its working methodology at Provincial, Divisional and District Level. In details he has briefed PM screening, Prenatal Diagnosing Testing and Genetic Counselling to the Thalassemia affected families.
Prof. Dr. Shahid Mahmood Baig has presented lecture on Common Genetic Disorders in Pakistan by focusing Beta Thalassemia Prevalence and its prevention.
AVM ® Aftab Hussain also has highlighted the treatment of Major Thalassemia and its challenges in future. He presented picture of the disease and shared some recent case studies to the participants.
