PROCEEDINGS:
Thalassaemia Awareness seminar started with the recitation of Holy Quran and Naat. Dr. Yasmeen Ehsan (Director General PTGD) delivered a comprehensive presentation highlighting the services of PTGD, its role in prevention, screening, genetic counseling, and awareness activities across Punjab. She also paid thanks to Dr. Mehnaz Khakwani (VC NMU) for provision of new CVS room in gynae OPD Nishter Hospital Multan.
VC Dr. Mehnaz Khakwani emphasized the importance of premarital screening and community participation in reducing the burden of Thalassaemia major in Pakistan. Dr. Rana Zulfiqar Ali emphasized that every single person should have Thalassaemia carrier screening test before marriage.
Prof. Dr. Asghar Javaid gives detailed presentation on hematological aspects of Thalassaemia. Ahmad Nadeem Khalid (Incharge PTGD Multan) paid thanks to all guests of this activity he also highlighted the progress of PTGD. He warmly greeted the distinguished guests and participants.
