Proceedings of the Event:
The Regional Center Punjab Thalassemia and Other Genetic Disorders (PTGD), DG Khan, successfully observed National Thalassemia Prevention Day on 17 November 2025 at DG Khan Medical College by organizing a comprehensive awareness seminar and screening camp aimed at enhancing public and professional understanding of Thalassemia prevention, early diagnosis, and premarital screening. The event was presided over by Director General PTGD Dr. Yasmeen Ehsan and inaugurated by senior medical faculty, featuring technical presentations by experts, an interactive screening camp facilitated by PTGD field teams, and active participation from healthcare professionals, faculty members, and students. The program strengthened institutional collaboration, promoted free government-provided Thalassemia services, and emphasized the importance of preventive screening, concluding with appreciation for organizers and the distribution of shields to key stakeholders.
