A Thalassemia Awareness Seminar and Screening Camp was organized by Mr. Muneeb Rahmat (Regional Coordinator, PTGD Regional Center Sargodha) at The Superior University Sargodha Campus for the students of Allied Health Sciences about Prevention of Thalassemia & Other Genetic Disorders.
Objective:
The objectives of this seminar and screening camp were to give awareness to the students of Allied Health Sciences, faculty and staff of the university about free services of PTGD and its Regional Center Sargodha regarding preventive medicine. It was to sensitize the students to Get Their Thalassemia Test before their Marriage from PTGD Regional Center Sargodha as Prevention is Better than Cure.

Ms. Anam (Faculty Member - Superior University Sargodha) hosted the seminar. After the recitation of the Holy Qur’an and the Naat e Rasool Maqbool SAW, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Ch. (Campus Director Superior University Sargodha) welcomed all distinguished Guests and Guest Speakers.
Dr. Khawaja Arshad talked about the Symptoms, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Thalassemia Disease. Mr. Muneeb Rahmat gave a presentation about the Introduction of PTGD and discussed the importance of Punjab Thalassemia Preventive Services offered by PTGD and its Regional Center Sargodha. While speaking at the Seminar, being the Guests of Honors Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Ch., Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf, Dr. Rana Riaz, Dr. Younas Siddiqui, and Dr. Ghulam Abbas Sandhela appreciated Mr. Muneeb Rahmat Regional Coordinator, PTGD Regional Center Sargodha, and his team for arranging this kind of awareness seminar and screening camp for the university students and they strongly advised the students for getting their pre-marital screening from Punjab Thalassemia PTGD Sargodha Region. After the seminar, The Campus Director, Guests of Honors, and Guest Speakers also inaugurated the Thalassemia Screening Camp and around 130 got their Thalassemia Test done from the PTGD Sargodha Region. Students also appreciated the Executive Management of Superior University Sargodha Campus and Regional Coordinator PTGD Regional Center Sargodha and his Team for arranging the Thalassemia Awareness Seminar and Screening Camp. Students also committed to Mr. Muneeb (Regional Coordinator PTGD Sargodha Region) for spreading his message of Getting the Thalassemia Test Done before Marriage from PTGD for Thalassemia Major Free Pakistan to their friends and colleagues.
