On May 8th, in observance of International Thalassemia Day, the PTGD Sargodha Region organized a significant awareness walk at Superior University, Sargodha Campus. The walk was jointly led by Mr. Muneeb Rahmat (Regional Head, PTGD Sargodha Region), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Ch. (Campus Director), Mr. Arslan Ahmad Shah (Executive Director), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arif (Academic Head/Additional Registrar), and Mr. Mustansar Raza (Hilah e Ahmar Thalassemia Center Sargodha), along with other Heads of Department.
Over 300 participants including faculty, students, and university staff enthusiastically took part in the walk, which commenced from the main academic building and concluded at the university gate. The purpose of the event was to highlight the critical message: “Get Your Thalassemia Test Done Before Marriage for a Thalassemia-Free Pakistan - Prevention is Better Than Cure.” Attendees highly praised the PTGD’s preventive healthcare initiatives and expressed their appreciation for Mr. Muneeb Rahmat’s dedication to spreading thalassemia awareness throughout the region.
